 Keep your RV pest-free
You don't have to share your RV with pests and vermin during your travels. With camping season beginning to take full swing, here are some products that may help you keep creepy crawlers out of your RV this year.
  • Mothballs: When storing, place mothballs inside of your RV to keep rodents out.
  • Peppermint oil: Use real peppermint oil (not the extract) or a peppermint plant to get rid of mice. The scent may be pleasant to you, but mice don't find it appealing and will leave your RV.
  • Fabric softener dryer sheets: Placing fabric softener dryer sheets in the cupboards and compartments of your RV will keep mice away without the unpleasant odor of mothballs.
Enhanced driver's license will help travelers at border
By Terri Lynn Land, Michigan Secretary of State
A convenient new driver's license is now available that offers Michigan residents the flexibility to use it as a secure document at the U.S. border when traveling as well as for driving purposes.

The Michigan Department of State is offering the option of an enhanced driver's license or ID card in an effort to help protect state and national security and to ensure ease of cross-border travel.

The new license doubles as a border-crossing document and denotes both identity and citizenship. It has higher security features to meet tougher federal ID requirements that take effect at America's land and sea borders on June 1, 2009.
What famous person would you like to take on an RV trip?
The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) recently conducted a survey asking RV owners, "What living, famous person would you like to take with you on an RV trip?" Barack Obama received the most votes for President, but he was runner-up in this RVIA survey. Academy Award winner and star of the movie "RV" Robin Williams came in first place, beating out celebrities like George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Warren Buffet and Rachael Ray.
