Tips on throwing the ultimate tailgating party
Football season is here, and with each game is an opportunity to throw an amazing tailgating party. College football fans are often considered the most energetic fans of all, and are known for tailgating. Whether you support green or blue, hosting the ultimate tailgating party is easy if you follow these simple steps.

Team spirit? When it comes to tailgating, it?s best to go all out. Dress yourself in jerseys, t-shirts, baseball caps or anything else you own in your team?s colors. Decorate your tailgating site with team colors too.

Food and drink?Aim for quick and simple recipes, and make sure you have enough for all guests. Joe Cahn, the Commissioner of Tailgating, recommends food is ready about an hour and a half before the game starts.

Game coverage?RVs contain TVs and are a good way to watch the game, but you may consider bringing another one along for outdoor guests. A portable radio will be useful in tracking multiple games. The more access to the game, the better.

Tailgate in style? The best vehicle to tailgate in is without a doubt an RV. RVs are the big ticket when it comes to game time, taking tailgating to a whole new level. There is no need to worry about your ice melting, trying to find a clean restroom, or looking for a place to cook your meals. With an RV, everything is right within your reach.

Start planning your next tailgating party by exploring the different types of RVs at the 20th Annual Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show, Rock Financial Showplace in Novi from September 30 through October 4. This year?s show features special discounts including folding campers from $4,999; trailers from $8,999; and motorhomes from $49,999. Booths featuring parts and accessories, campground information and on site RV financing make this the complete RV show experience. Enter to win the Ultimate MIS Race Experience package from Michigan International Speedway, including tickets, camping and VIP access (valued at nearly $3,000). The show is open weekdays 2-9 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The show is sponsored by MARVAC, a member organization representing all aspects of the camping and RV industries. Consumers can call 517.349.8881 or visit www.marvac.org for show coupons and additional information.
