Autumn is a great time to visit one of the numerous apple orchards and wineries across the state. Enjoy the brisk, fresh air while sipping a cup of warm apple cider or biting into a luscious Michigan apple. While strolling through the vineyards, take a moment to behold nature’s beauty as you watch the leaves turn from green to shades of red, orange and yellow. Some of the best fall colors can be viewed from the windows of your RV. There are an abundance of fall festivals and celebrations across the state including the Wine and Harvest Festival (Paw Paw), Oktoberfest (Frankenmuth), Four Flags Apple Festival (Niles), Paul Bunyan Days (Oscoda), Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival (Alpena), the Pumpkin Festival (Bessemer) and America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (Detroit).

As fall gives way to winter, there is no question why Michigan is referred to as a “Winter Wonderland.” Create memories with your children, making snow angels in the clean, unadulterated, first snowfall. That legendary lake-effect snow supports over 45 downhill ski resorts, 5,700 miles of snowmobile trails, and over 3,500 kilometers of Nordic ski trails—all across the state. Dutch Winterfest (Holland), Tip Up Town USA (Houghton Lake), Winterfest (Grand Haven/Spring Lake/Ferrysburg), North American Snow Festival (Cadillac), Winter Carnival (Houghton), Snowfest (Cedarville and Hessel), and Winterfest (Roscommon) are among the festivities honoring Old Man Winter.
